Dry Cleaning

Dry cleaning uses a solvent instead of water. That matters because water swells natural fibres and relaxes the internal structure of tailored clothing — which is how a jacket loses its shape and a silk saree loses its drape. Anything built to hold a form, and anything that would shrink or bleed in water, belongs here.

What it covers

How dry cleaning is handled

For suits, blazers, silks, wools and structured garments where water washing would damage the fabric, shape or finish. Each item is inspected before treatment.

  • Pre-inspection for stains and damage
  • Solvent cleaning, not water washing
  • Pressed and shaped after cleaning
  1. 01

    Inspection first

Every item is checked for existing damage, weak seams, loose embellishment and stains before it goes anywhere near a machine. Anything we find, you hear about.

  2. 02

    Solvent cleaning

Garments are cleaned in solvent rather than water, so fibres do not swell, colours do not bleed and structured pieces keep their shape.

  3. 03

    Spot treatment

Marks are worked on individually. Different stains need different agents, and the wrong one sets a stain permanently.

  4. 04

    Finishing and shaping

Items are pressed and shaped afterwards so shoulders, lapels and pleats sit the way they were cut to sit.

What we take

The items this service is built for. If yours is not listed, ask us.

  • Structured or lined garments

Worth knowing

A few things that make a real difference to the result.

  • Check the care label — a crossed-out tub symbol means the garment should not be washed in water.
  • Bring both pieces of a suit together so they are cleaned identically and do not drift apart in shade.
  • Some older stains are permanent by the time they reach us. We will say so before treating rather than after.
